Perry C. "Charlie" Hammond

Perry C. Hammond aka "Charlie", 61, of Utica, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 25, 2021.

He was born on August 10, 1960, in Utica, a son of the late Warren Hammond and Marian (Fish) Curry. Perry was educated locally and graduated from UFA and MVCC. At one time, he worked for Packy's Pub and DeIorio's Bakery and most recently with the ARC.

Perry was a member of the Utica City Church and AA for over 20 years. He was an active member of the Utica community and was the "unofficial" Mayor of Utica. He loved music and his stops at Stewarts Shops, Roger's and the Triangle Coffee Shops.

He is survived by his siblings, Joanne Vanderhoff of Whitesboro, Mary Griffin and Candy Curry both of Utica, nieces and nephews, Connie Curry, Tiffany (Richard Walker) Curry, Desiree Sotelo, Ashely (Steve Miner) Wetzel, Lisa Joy Hammond, Jason Hammond, Jennifer Millozo, Dylan (Dustin) Dibble and David Curry. He was predeceased by his sister, Elaine Sweinton, brother, Rodney Hammond and a nephew, Christopher Crossley.

The family of Perry would like offer a special thank you to the Utica Police Department, Utica Fire Department and the staff in the ER at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for the care and support they have received during this difficult time.

The funeral will be on Tuesday at 6:00 pm at the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Services, 1123 Court at York Sts., Utica. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm prior to the funeral service.
