Perry was born in Amherst, TX, on August 20, 1946, to C.N. & Vera Mae Harrison. Perry grew up in Lubbock & attended Lubbock High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1964. After serving two tours in Vietnam & receiving the Purple Heart, he returned to Lubbock. He worked construction under his dad as a general contractor for 9 years before starting his own construction business. After retiring from construction, Perry worked as an independent insurance adjuster for 20+ years. In 1968 Perry met the love of his life, Suzanne "Suzie" Lane. Together they had two children: A son, Jon Harrison, and a daughter, Amber Hand. Perry was a sports fanatic, just like any good West Texan, rooting for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Kanas City Chiefs, and Dallas Cowboys. Over the years, Perry coached numerous of Jon's sports teams, from basketball, baseball & football. Perry really had a gift for coaching– leading multiple teams to championship wins. Perry enjoyed traveling with Suzie, spending time with their five grandkids, fishing, shooting & hanging out with his dog Girty. Perry was full of life and always had a good joke or a funny comment. He never met a stranger & lived life to the fullest.
Perry is survived by his wife of 52 years Suzanne; son Jon Harrison; daughter Amber Hand & son-in-law Clint Hand; and grandchildren Thomas Harrison, Autumn Hand, Tanner Harrison, Connor Hand, & Tatum Harrison; siblings, Brenda Boydston & brother-in-law, Larry Boydston, Jeanette Pettigrew & brother-in-law, Wayne Pettigrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents CN Harrison, & Vera Mae Harrison, and; his mother & father-in-law Jo & Albert "Sonny" Lane.
Although Perry will be deeply missed. His family is so thankful for the promise of the Lord: we will see him again!
