Peter Byrne, Sr.

On February 4, 2026, of Washington Twp. Age 82. Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Sekel). Devoted father of Peter Byrne, Jr. and Robyn Simpson (Edward). Loving grandfather of Edward and Kevin. Dear brother of Marie Byrne, Lynne Konen and the late John and Joseph Byrne. Loved by nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Growing up in South Philadelphia, Peter graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1961. Married the love of his life, Helen, on October 26, 1963. Peter was the best husband, father, and Pop. His family was his life.

Peter was a proud member of Plumber's Union Local 690 for over 64 years. Starting his apprenticeship in 1961 he served as an officer, Business Agent, and Assistant Business Manager for the union. On top of all that he was a well-respected plumber when working with the tools and was the foreman on many jobs.

Peter was a member of the Polish American String band for over 10 years serving as a Marshall, playing member, and officer.

He played football throughout his younger years and was known for his athleticism. Later in life he could be spotted in the stands cheering on his grandsons. He was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan and an Eagles Season ticket holder for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time down the shore in North Wildwood with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday 10:15-11:45 am at the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to the Church of the Holy Family at the above address.
