Peter Cathey Obituary

Passed away on August 9, 2023 at the age of 61. Born May 6, 1962 to Glenn and Mary (Cuthbert) Cathey in Lansing, Michigan. Peter worked for the Cathey Company, the business his father and grandfather started. He started in the warehouse, moved into sales and later became the Vice President of the Cathey Company. Regardless of his title, Peter was always valued as a leader in the company up until his retirement. In his youthful years he enjoyed drawing and always aspired to be a cartoonist. He enjoyed watching auto racing with his father and later passed that tradition down to watching the races with his sons. Peter was a Parrot Head at heart and would travel to watch Jimmy Buffett perform in concert. Peter was a former member and past president of the Eaton Rapids Lions Club. His untimely passing will leave a void in the hearts of many and he will be dearly missed by all who remember him.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are his sons, Glenn Cathey, Christopher Cathey; brothers, Russell (Mariann) Cathey, Tom Cathey, Scott (Jeanine) Cathey, Bruce (Andrea) Cathey; sister, Becky (Bob) Eedy as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 to 8:00PM on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Prairie Creek Golf Center in Dewitt, MI. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Lansing, MI.
