Peter J. Colwell

Peter J. Colwell, age 70 of Greenleaf, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Pete was born and raised in Askeaton to parents Michael and Frances Colwell. Pete graduated from Wrightstown High School with the class of 1971. He married Sharon Bowers at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown on April 26, 1973.
Pete worked for more than 40 years at White Clover/Arla. He was also a lifelong farmer. After retirement, he worked part-time for Parkview Feeder Farms. He recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April with his wife Shari along with their families. His children, grandchildren, fur babies and farming were a big part of his life. As many know, you could always find Pete along with his wife in the bleachers watching their sons race stock cars. His later years were spent cheering for his grandchildren on a mat, court, or field. His favorite pastimes included seeing his dairy farmers, golfing and making cookies to perfection.
Pete is survived by his wife, Shari, children: Shawn (Amy), Jesse (Laura), Jamie (Kate), Nicole (Nick); grandchildren: Kylie, Kaden, Mallory, Natalie, Taylor, Dylan; brother: Tom (Sharon), sister: Mary (Dan); mother-in-law: Margaret Bowers; sisters-in-law: Diane, Debbie (Rick), LeAnn (Dan), Donna (Darren), and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law: Norman; and brother-in-law: John.
Friends and family may gather on Thursday, February 29 at St. Clare Parish – St. Paul Site, 437 Main St., Wrightstown, from 3-7 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 1 at the church from 9-10:45 am. Mass will be held at 11 am with Fr. Brian Wideman presiding.
