Cody Carter, 36, of Greenleaf, passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2026. Cody was born to Randy and Deana Carter of Greenleaf. Cody resided in Greenleaf and attended Wrightstown High School.

Cody was always an outdoor kid and that continued into adulthood. Cody enjoyed, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and tattooing. He had many hidden talents. He enjoyed spending time with friends and some very special cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Cody's biggest accomplishment came in 2016 when his son Kael James Carter was born. Kael was the light of Cody's life and the true sparkle of Cody's eye. His favorite job title was "Dad". Cody was told often he was the "world's greatest dad" and he wore that title with the utmost pride.

Cody is survived by his son Kael James Carter; parents, Randy and Deana Carter; sister Amber Carter (Travis Matson); grandfather,Alton Jahnke; three nephews, Karter Werth, Kaicin Nies-Carter, and Anthony Matson; brother, Beau Carter (Sandy Hatton); along with lots of very special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Nancy Jahnke; grandfather, Eugene Carter; uncles Eugene, Shawn, Corey Carter, Joe Baril, John Jahnke; cousin, Jennifer Jahnke.

The Carter family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in Cody's honor at a later date.

Continuing his legacy of giving, Cody was an organ and tissue donor, touching countless lives.
