Peter Comer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory on Nov. 4, 2022.
Peter G. Comer, 82, of Port Charlotte, Fl passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. Comer (nee Beyer) for 57 years; loving father of Sheryl Martin (Bob), Jeri Mahoney (Mark, deceased), Jeff Comer (Heather), and Michelle Manco (Jim); dear grandfather of Robin Somers, Lisa Renz, Erin Phillips (Sheridan), Joshua Manco (Meghan), Daniel Mahoney, Danielle Richards (Alexander), Greggory Martin, Alexandria Martin, Cassandra Comer, and Stacy Comer; and great-grandfather of 19, Camila Mitchell, Brooklyn and Logan Phillips, Morgan, Elise, and Michael Somers, Zachary, Trenton, Jefferson, Regan, Amelia, and Willa Renz, Harper, Hunter and Hayden Manco, Charlotte, Theodore, Jane and Wells Richards. Pete was born on May 8, 1940 in Shenandoah, PA to the late George and Clara (Wydra) Comer. He has three siblings, George Comer (Bernice, deceased), and the late Bob Comer and Shirley Pribish (Dick, both deceased).
Pete graduated from Shaw High School in Cleveland, Ohio and served in the US Army stationed in Germany. Pete and Nancy raised their family of four in Grafton, Ohio on a beautiful piece of property where many memories were made. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid Ohio Sports Fan. He retired at the young age of 49 from AT&T as a Telecommunications Engineer. He would spend much of his free time in the outdoors golfing, camping, fishing and hunting, with very fond memories of Camp Sauté, a cabin in the Appalachian mountains. Pete and Nancy discovered the beauty of the Florida sunshine and became Floridians in 2009 where he was able to enjoy many social events in his retirement, but spending time on his boat brought him the greatest joy.
In keeping with Pete's wishes, and in lieu of a funeral service, there will be a private Celebration of Life and memorial service on Saturday, November 19th in Cleveland, Ohio.
