Peter Curia

On November 4, 2021, Peter G. Curia of Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away after a long illness. Peter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Peter grew up in New York and graduated from White Plains High School in 1950. He was a veteran, entering the United States Navy (1953-1955) and was stationed on the USS Coral Sea. He then served two years in the Naval Reserves, after which he desired to return to the Navy but remained in White Plains to care for his father, Joseph, who had developed a serious illness. During this time, Peter met his life partner, beautiful Veronica Dagostino, who immediately captured his heart. They were married in 1959.
Peter started his career at the hardware manufacturer Yale and Towne. Peter and Veronica soon had two daughters and then moved to Rockland County, New York. Peter attended school for seven years while working full time and achieved his certification as an Architectural Hardware Consultant. In 1979, he started his first hardware distributorship, C & C Hardware, in Thornwood, New York. Through his perseverance, Peter thereafter grew several successful businesses, the largest being Seeco Supply Corp.
In his profession, Peter became known and respected as a man of his word. Always gracious and kind, he never took his success for granted and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Peter valued family and friends above all else. When not growing his businesses, when time and opportunity allowed, he could be found on the golf course playing a game he loved since the age of 14. He was a long-time member of the Wykagyl County Club, in New Rochelle, NY and Fiddlesticks Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida.
Peter is survived by Veronica, his wife of 63 years, their three children, Lisa Curia George and her spouse, David W. George; Cheryl Curia Reiner and her spouse, Thomas Reiner, and their son, Joseph Frank Curia; and two grandchildren, Charles R. Marcus and Leah So Jung Marcus.
