Peter Douvikas of Libertyville, passed away at the age of 93 surrounded by his loving family on September 5, 2025.
Peter was born June 15th in Nestani, Greece. He was the beloved husband to Penelope, for 71 wonderful years. A devoted father to Marina (Larry) Rasmusen, JoAnne (Mark) McKeehan, and Tom Douvikas. A cherished grandfather to Peter (Ivy) Rasmusen, Stephanie (Dennis) Hutchinson, Penny (Nick) Riedl, and Kristina McKeehan. As well as an adored great grandfather to Cayden, Ryker, Nicolette, and Paityn. He was a dear brother to Georgia (George) Haralambopoulos, Alex (Toula) Douvikas, Gus (Kalli) Douvikas, and Bessie Skaramagos. A loving brother-in-law to Tom Parashis. A cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. As well as a beloved cousin to many.
Peter was preceded in death by Tom Douvikas (son), Larry Rasmusen (son-in-law), Alex and Toula Douvikas (brother, sister-in-law), Gus and Kalli Douvikas (brother, sister-in-law), and Bessie Skaramagos (sister).
Peter was a restaurateur for many years, owning many restaurants throughout his time including the beloved Henny Penny Restaurant that was once located in McHenry, IL. His biggest accomplishment was his family. He loved being with his grandchildren / great grandchildren and making memories. He will be deeply missed. May his memory be eternal.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1400 O'Plaine Rd, Libertyville, IL from 10:00-11:30am with a funeral service beginning at 11:30am. Interment will follow at St. John Chrysostomos Greek Orthodox Monastery, 4600 93rd St, Pleasant Prairie, WI.
