Obituary
Peter Charles Eckert Jr tragically passed away on March 26, 2023, just three days after his 35th birthday and only one month after the birth of his son, Cooper. Peter fought a short battle with an aggressive case of Acute Leukemia that was diagnosed just days before his passing.
As a young boy, Peter truly loved playing sports, especially baseball and football. He was a big fan of the Yankees and the Giants. He loved to pull pranks and always had his family and friends laughing. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at his family's vacation house in Pennsylvania. Peter didn't always have it the easiest and faced many different challenges; however, he persevered and became a better man. Over the past 5 years, he did so many wonderful things with his life. Peter was extremely happy to start this next chapter with his fiance Kayla and their son Cooper. He constantly talked about how excited he was to teach Cooper how to swim and play baseball. Most of all, Peter looked forward to marrying Kayla, buying a house, and giving his family a wonderful, loving life.
Peter is survived and missed by his fiance Kayla Moran, their son Cooper and their dog Brodie, his parents Rosemary and Peter Eckert, his sister Michelle Eckert, and his grandma Susan Eckert. His memory will be cherished by the rest of his loving family including his Great Aunt Roberta and Great Uncle Mike Forella, Aunt Susie and Uncle Tony DePalma, cousins Domenique Thompson and her husband Dave, Anthony DePalma, Juliet DePalma, Michael Forella, Jessalyn Axtell and her husband Scott, Anthony Forella and his wife Aspen, and Nicholas Forella.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford on Wednesday, March 29th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm-9pm. A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, March 30th at 10:00am at St Joseph RC Church, 300 Elm Street, Oradell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a GoFundMe set up for his son's Cooper's future expenses.
