Peter Farwell passed away on January 20, 2026, following a series of complications from a fall in early December. He was 83 years young. Born January 6, 1943, in
Fitchburg, MA, he graduated from Leominster High School in 1960 and from Syracuse University in 1965 (MA in Communications) where he met his loving wife, Ginny, and went on to celebrate their more than 60 years of marriage together.
Following college, he and Ginny moved across the country to
Los Angeles, CA, where he was assigned as an Air Force Information Officer at Space and Missiles Systems Organization. Peter completed his military assignment and began his successful career in Public Relations and Investor Relations, eventually relocating to Boston and
Acton, MA. There they raised their three daughters, Terry, Lori, and Kim, enjoying many summers on Nantucket. They relocated to
Mashpee, MA, in 2001 to enjoy an early retirement, spending winters in
San Diego, CA. Peter and Ginny enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with their friends and family.
Peter was a charismatic and compassionate individual. He was enjoyed by everyone around him. Generous in all things, he was an active supporter of many local Cape Cod charities. Peter, "Pappie", was adored by his ve grandchildren.
Peter is survived by his wife, Virginia Waugh Farwell, brother Douglas Farwell of Leominster, MA, and daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Scott Worthington of
San Diego, CA, and Kimberly and Ryan Kane of Pembroke, MA, and grandchildren, Ava Lancia, Owen, Benjamin, and Lyla Kane, and Cooper Worthington. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lori Farwell Lancia, and his brother, Richard Farwell.
A celebration of life will be planned for Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Cotuit Federated Church, 40 School Street, in Cotuit, MA.
