So, so many memories of my amazing dad. Grateful for his life and example and the values he passed down to me. Among these pics are a favorite childhood pic of my dad, us at the 6th grade Lincoln "Father Daughter Sock Hop," the whole family in the backyard of "Woodhaven" in 1989, and with my mom at a Stanford basketball game during the firstr quarter he served as a guest lecturer at Stanford GSB (spring, 1988). First of all a wonderful generous guy. Peter lived with me for the summer between his Freshman and Sophomore years at Willamette. He had a job at Rosenblatts at the time the go to men´s store in Portland.
We had a great time water skiing off Pete´s beautiful classic speed boat powered by a 35 horse powered out board engine.
We went to the World´s Fair in Seattle and ended the summer at Lake Chelan in eastern Washington.
We shared my bedroom where he shared how Bonnie was the girl of his dreams and was priority one for the future.
We also talked about our future lives and goals for family and jobs. Peter was precise Bonnie would be part of everything. Graduate from Willamette Stanford or an Ivy League MBA program. These were not dreams they were plans and they included with leading a Big corporation and having a wonderful family.
As Peter shared his thoughts he was not arrogant or affected. To the contrary his humility and values were solid and it was evident his plans and expectations were not ego driven but rather arose from a desire to provide a good life for Bonnie and their family.
I was in Peter and Bonnie´s wedding and my future contact with the two of them was limited - usually Willamette Board of Trustee meetings. That being said even with limited contact it was evident it was still the Peter l learned to so greatly respect because of his values warmth and generosity.
