Peter P. LeRoy, of Braintree, affectionately known as Pete or Boo-Boo to his loved ones, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on September 17, 1961, to the late John W. LeRoy Jr. and Phyllis (Weixler) LeRoy of Braintree, Pete's life was defined by his natural charisma, unwavering dedication to his family and friends, and his passion for his work and sports.
Pete was the beloved husband of Linda (Shaughnessy) LeRoy for 36 wonderful years, during which they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. He was a loving father to his two prides and joys, Taryn and Erin LeRoy, along with their significant others, Gjergj Demiraj and Sean Crowley. As a loving brother, Pete is fondly remembered by Judith and James Stoebel of South Carolina and John LeRoy of Florida. He is also remembered fondly by his aunt and uncle, Francis and Joan Woelfel of Harwichport. Pete held a special place in his heart as a dear godfather to Joshua Grondell and his wife Jennifer of Norwell, as well as to his nephew and godson, Matthew LeRoy of Florida. Pete's extended family, including many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends, will deeply miss his warmth and kindness. His cherished "Grand Dog," Ted, will miss his steady presence and their games of playing fetch together - he would often joke that Ted was the shortstop he never had.
A graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1979, Pete went on to become a self-employed contractor, specializing in new home and condominium construction. His craftsmanship was widely recognized, and he took great pride in the homes he built throughout Braintree and the surrounding communities, often driving around town and pointing them out to his daughters. More than just a skilled builder, Pete was dedicated to creating spaces where families could grow and make lasting memories.
Beyond his work, Pete had many passions. For 28 years, he coached Braintree Baseball, leading his teams to five championships and inspiring young athletes with his love for the game. A devoted Boston sports fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. Pete also had a passion for cooking; he was often found watching cooking shows and perfecting the art of grilling-much to the delight of his family and friends.
Summers in Marshfield were among Pete's happiest times, where he could be found relaxing on the beach, working on his tan, and enjoying a good cigar. He loved entertaining and was known for his legendary July 3rd celebrations, complete with impressive fireworks displays. His cheerful, friendly nature shone brightest in these moments, surrounded by those he loved most.
Pete's legacy is one of kindness, love, and unwavering friendship. His smile, laughter, and ability to make everyone feel like family will be profoundly missed. Though his passing leaves an immense void, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, March 25th, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 26th, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree, followed by burial at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Braintree Babe Ruth Baseball, Care of: Robert DiVito. PO Box 850022, Braintree, MA, 02185.

Linda, Sorry for your loss.
I remember going out to jobs to help Peter set roof trusses with the Shaughnessy Boom Truck years ago. And your father would always say to hurry back! When I told Peter that he always had a good laugh and asked if he sent the tee shirts!
