Obituary of Peter Makres
Peter F. Makres of Largo Florida passed away after a brief illness on December 10, 2023 at the age of 65.
He was a son of Thomas P. Makres PhD and Catherine L. (Makres) Calderbank and he grew up in Vestal NY.
He is survived by a sister and brother, Betty Marie Crockett (Tim Crockett) of Berkshire NY and Stephen Mitchell Makres (Tammy Makres) of Vestal NY. Also nephews, Thomas (Nicole) and Brandon Makres, great nephews Nickolas and Ethan Makres, and great niece Elliana Makres. Also an Aunt, Olivia Walker of Strunk Kentucky, several cousins and many many friends.
Peter was a graduate of Vestal Senior High School in Vestal NY.
He worked at various locations in NY and Florida as a draftsman and electromechanical engineer. His latest position was at Ametek Inc. In Largo Florida.
Peter had many hobbies, namely an audiophile and oil painter both with much enthusiasm. He was very well known in the audio world and had made many many friends and acquaintances in that arena. He was also recognized as an accomplished oil painter who mainly taught himself the art with stunning results.
Peter will be missed beyond description. A caring loving person who knew few boundaries with helping and volunteering his time in the Largo community and the village he lived in for so many years. He leaves with us countless memories and laughter.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held at a later time, to be announced by his immediate family.
