Peter Mansfield Obituary
Originally from the United Kingdom, Peter began his career as a professional footballer with his hometown team, Derby County Football Club, and also represented his country with multiple appearances for the England Men's Youth International team. After his football career, he drew on his degree in chemistry to build a successful career in marketing, spending many years with Beckman.
Peter moved with his family to the United States, living first in California and then in New Jersey and Massachusetts. His love of sport was matched by a deep appreciation for music of all kinds. In retirement, he devoted his time to family, charitable work, including volunteering as a driver for Road to Recovery, and to his lifelong fascination with steam trains, by building a model railway.
He is survived by his wife of over 58 years Pamela Mansfield of Falmouth, MA; daughter Clare Prescott of Pembroke, MA; and daughter Samantha Mansfield of Greenwich, UK. He also leaves two grandchildren.
