Maureen Baldwin (O'Connor), 82, of
Falmouth, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, November 6, 2025, at Heritage of Falmouth after a period of declining health. In the weeks leading up to her passing, she was surrounded by her loving family - always the center of her world - who were by her side when she left this life as gently as she lived it.
Born in 1943 to John and Katherine O'Connor of Worcester, MA, Maureen grew up in a close-knit family that helped shape the warmth and kindness she carried throughout her life. She felt great pride in her Irish heritage. Maureen graduated from Saint Peter's High School in Worcester, MA and later from Worcester State College-a place she remembered fondly and spoke of with pride. After college, she began her career as a teacher, where her natural patience, compassion, and steady encouragement touched the lives of countless students.
Maureen was the devoted wife of the late Frederick Baldwin, whom she adored, and they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. Together they created a beautiful family raising their four children in Milford, MA before retiring to Falmouth, where they created many more cherished memories together. Maureen's deep and steadfast Catholic faith sustained her throughout her life and guided her every day. Throughout her life Maureen practiced daily acts of kindness to both friends and strangers. She volunteered in local schools and her church communities - giving her time, her energy, and her heart to the communities she loved.
Above all, Maureen treasured time with her family and friends. She found joy in simple moments-long walks around Falmouth, gatherings filled with laughter, and any opportunity to be with the people she held dear.
She leaves behind her four children: David Baldwin of Sandwich; Mary Jo Gaskill and her husband Chris of Orleans, MA; Suzie Hauptmann and her husband Jay of
Falmouth, MA; and Mark Baldwin and his wife Kathy of Pembroke, MA. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: Lily Hauptmann, Emily Baldwin, Owen Baldwin, Evan Hauptmann, Dylan Baldwin, Barrett Gaskill, Maeve Gaskill, and Ryan Baldwin.
In addition to her late husband, Maureen is predeceased by her brothers David O'Connor and Timothy O'Connor, and two cherished grandsons, Robert and William Baldwin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main Street,
Falmouth, MA, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway (Route 28), East Falmouth. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for acts of kindness or charity in Maureen's memory.
