Robert "Bob" Silvia Sr., 86, of
Falmouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones on September 20, 2025.
Born on September 2, 1939, in Falmouth, Bob was a lifelong resident who remained deeply connected to his community throughout his life. He was the son of Manual and Mary (Andrade) Silvia and grew up alongside his brothers George and Gilbert.
Bob dedicated much of his professional life to Lawrence and Lynch Inc., where he worked until his retirement. Even after retiring from that role, he continued to contribute to the local community through his work with the Barnstable County Agricultural Society. His commitment to service extended beyond the workplace-he was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony's Church in East Falmouth and a lifelong member of the Fresh Pond Holy Ghost Society, organizations that reflected his enduring faith and strong community ties.
Family was at the heart of Bob's life. He shared 51 cherished years with his beloved wife Sandra (Crocker) Silvia before her passing. Together they raised three children: Robert Silvia Jr., Theresa Silvia, and Timothy Silvia. Bob took great pride in his growing family, which includes seven grandchildren-Bernadette Andreasen, Jefferey Silvia, Jessica Pottle, Mary (Silvia) Cronin, Jennifer Pottle, Julia Pottle, and Krista Raposa-and thirteen great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother Gilbert Silvia.
In addition to his wife Sandra, Bob was predeceased by his brother George Silvia and their parents Manual and Mary (Andrade) Silvia.
Bob's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with quiet strength and steadfast devotion. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church in East Falmouth on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
