Mr. Peter John Medico Jr.

Mr. Peter John Medico, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, at the age of 93. Peter was a resident of Aiken, South Carolina, at the time of his passing.
Born on August 28th, 1932, in Boston, Massachusetts, Peter was the son of the late Mary (Ferrara) Medico and Peter Medico, Sr.
In addition to his parents, Peter is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Josephine "Josie" (Innello) Medico, as well as his seven siblings: Joe Medico, Nimo Medico, Charlie Medico, Ciro "Chickie" Medico, Edward Medico, Jennie Gogliano, and Gracie Malone.
Left to cherish his memory along with his son Anthony Medico (Dianne) and daughter Mary (Medico) Gaffey (David) are his grandchildren Maghen Phillips (Chris), Andrew Medico, Matthew Medico, David Gaffey, and Michael Gaffey (Ali); Peter was also Papa to seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His family migrated from Palermo, Italy, Peter came from a large family and his life was a testament to his Italian heritage that he cherished so much. His life was enriched by his love for family gatherings, and he always enjoyed the delicious authentic soups and pastas prepared by his beloved Josie.
A proud veteran, Peter served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he dedicated his career to the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority as a bus driver, where he worked until his retirement. After retiring to Florida, Peter and Josie would escape the southern heat by often spending their summers in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, with their son Anthony and his family.
He enjoyed being outdoors gardening, swimming, mowing his lawn, and always keeping himself busy with activities he loved. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, going to the dog track, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Peter had a passion for Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was also an avid golfer, hitting the greens several times a week, and maintained his vitality by bicycling daily well into his 80's.
Peter's warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
At this time, the family plans to hold a Memorial Service at a later date.
