Howard “Bubba” Collins, age 79, passed away on February 15, 2026. He was born on November 16, 1946, in Langley, SC and lived in Warrenville, SC when not traveling for work.
Bubba spent many years working in construction on various projects from nuclear power plants to bridges over the Mississippi River. He took pride in honest work and the structures he helped build, making many loyal friends in the construction field along the way.
Bubba enjoyed his family, cooking, motorcycles, watching NASCAR and football. He found great satisfaction in staying busy, caring for others, and offering thoughtful advice to those around him.
In 2016, Bubba gave his life to Christ, a choice that brought him deep comfort and meaning in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda Sue Collins; biological father Arnold Collins; his mother Lizzy Kate Smith; and his brother, Luther Holley.
He is survived by his niece and nephew Cathy Cumbee (James) and John "Bull" Davis (Jayne) along with their families who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his loyal companion, Alby, a dog who brought him much comfort and joy.
A visitation will be held at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home (315 Main St, Graniteville, SC, 29829) on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with internment following at Langley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund (164 MT PLEASANT ROAD, RIDGE SPRING, SC 29129).
Pall Bearers will be Jay Cumbee, Jason Cumbee and James Cumbee III. Pearl Bearers will be Nancy Cumbee, Ashton Cumbee and Abigail Cumbee.
Jackson Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with these arrangements.
