Peter Timothy Mueller, age 82, of Alma, WI passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023 at his home with his family at his side.
Pete was born on April 18, 1941 in the Waumandee area, the son of the late Sylvester “Slim” and Theresa “Tracy” (Kamrowski) Mueller.
He attended St. Boniface Catholic School, graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School and attended Eau Claire Tech.
Before attending Eau Claire Tech, Pete honorably served his Country as a soldier in the United States Army until his honorable discharge on August 10, 1962.
On July 6, 1968, Peter was united in marriage to Mary Larson the daughter of the late Clarence and Myrtle (Nerby) Larson, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee. To this beloved union, 5 children were born, Lori, Beth, Lynn, Bente and Andy. With the exception of a few years in La Crosse and later in Rice Lake, Pete and his family spent most of their lives in Buffalo County.
Pete’s first job was with the Trane Company in La Crosse as a Lab Technician in the research department and then as an electrician. He then owned his own business before beginning a career with Buffalo Electric Co-op as their Member Services Manager. Following his retirement from Buffalo Electric, Pete spent time working at Talbot Funeral Home and lastly, with Fountain City Mutual Insurance Co.
Peter enjoyed playing softball, golfing and fishing with friends that knew how to play Euchre, but most of all he enjoyed raising his family.
Throughout the years, Pete was active in several organizations, such as the Alma Lions Club, Alma American Legion, Post 224, the Waumandee Fire Department and the Alma Rod and Gun Club. He also served on the St. John Lutheran Church Council in Alma and a charter member of the Waumandee Community Club, helping establish the softball diamond.

Pete will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of the past 55 years, Mary,; children, Lori (Thad) Henderson, Beth (Rick) Marcon, Lynn (Steve) Bauer, Bente (Josh) Moe and Andy (Sarah) Mueller; grandchildren, Macail (Nichole) Henderson, Cody Henderson, Aly (Chris) Steinburg, Aubrey Marcon, Spencer Bauer (Ashley), Laura Bauer (Preston Sult), Nathan Bauer, Maren, Annikka and Thorfin Moe, Morgen (Maddy) Mueller, Azlynn, Maggie, Annie and Emery Mueller; great grandchildren, Fletcher, Olivia and Albina Henderson, Hunter and Haddie Bauer, Mia and Lucy Sult; siblings, Praxy (Rusty) Auseth, Ray (Carol) Mueller, Jeanette (David) Sonsalla, Janice Heinz and Diane (Neil) Schaffner; brother in law, Dave (Jean) Larson; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and in-laws, Pete was preceded in death by his infant brother, Sylvester, Jr.; brothers in law, Chuck Heinz, Joe, Dan and Tim Larson.
A funeral service for Pete will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel and again on Friday at the church on hour prior to the service.
