Peter John Murray, 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, April 21, 2025, at South County Hospital following health complications.
Born on August 17, 1957, to the late Edward and Molly Murray, Peter was a man who embodied strength, loyalty, and heart. He served his country honorably as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, a source of great pride throughout his life. For 27 years, Peter worked as a skilled sheet metal mechanic at Electric Boat, where he was known for his dedication and work ethic. An avid bass fisherman and a loyal New England Patriots fan, Peter also had a passion for cooking - especially his famous Clams Casino.
He was a father who loved his children with all of his heart and soul and would do anything for them. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Known throughout the neighborhood for his generosity and friendly spirit, Peter made friends wherever he went.
Peter was the beloved father of Christopher Murray and Kayla Murray, and the cherished "Papa" to his five grandchildren: Alexis, Ronin, Orion, Sienna, and Dominic. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them, whether he was cheering them on, cooking for them, or simply being present in their lives. He is also survived by his former wife and friend Martha (Krick) Murray; brothers, Paul and Bob Murray; his daughter-in-law, Kara Waldron-Murray; his son-in-law Nicholas Fiocchi; and his sister-in-law, Lucy Murray and his parent in-laws Frank and Joan Krick.
The family will honor Peter's life with a private gathering in his memory.
