Peter Offermann

Peter Offermann passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at home. He was 80 years old.
Peter was born on December 6, 1944 in Teaneck, NJ to the late Henry Offermann and Theresa Kamp Offermann. He was a part of the first graduating class of New Milford High School in 1962 and graduated from Rutgers University. He was a longtime resident of Montclair, NJ.
For many years, Peter worked as a banker at Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank, rising to the rank of Managing Director. He later went on to serve as CFO at TLC Beatrice, and CEO at ATC Group Services and Cellotape.
Peter was a man of many hobbies. He and his wife, Kathy, spent years dancing West Coast swing. He took up piano late in life and played frequently, dedicated to making sure that his daily practice streak remained unbroken. Peter especially loved activities where he was on the go. First came sailing, with day-long outings on Lake Hopatcong and longer summer cruises on the Chesapeake Bay. Later, Peter turned his attention to flying. With Kathy alongside in the second seat, Peter would pilot his Cessna 172 on adventures all over the country.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Offermann. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen; children, Thomas and Christine; granddaughters Zoe and Zelda; and siblings Henry and Thea.
A private service will be held for the family on May 9, 2025.
