Steven Sobin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Louis Suburban Chapel - Fair Lawn on Jan. 29, 2026.
Steven Dwight Sobin, 73, of Port Orange, FL, passed away on January 24, 2026. Devoted father of Caleb, Noah and Ezra (spouse Kelsey). Proud grandfather of (Caleb) Cayla, Haley, Derek, (Noah) Brady, (Ezra & Kelsey) Georgia, Theo and Jake. Loving brother of Larry and sister-in-law, Diane and loving uncle of Lauren (Sobin) Cuozzo and Alexandra Sobin and great uncle of Cecilia (Alex and Dan), Gianna (Lauren and Joe). He was predeceased by his wife Nancy Sobin (nee Jones) and parents Audrey and Herman Sobin.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Steven made his home over the years in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida, building friendships and memories in every place he lived.

He graduated from New Milford High School and Florida Atlantic University. He was a social worker in New Jersey and at other states agencies where he resided. He was a former member of New Milford Jewish Center.

But it was Steven's spirit that truly shone. Friends and family will forever smile remembering him belting out "We Are Family" at weddings and Bar Mitzvahs - microphone in hand, voice full of heart, pulling everyone onto the dance floor to celebrate love and togetherness. Steven made every moment feel like a family reunion.

His unmistakable "Stevie Boy" energy and his "Far Out" spirit made every gathering brighter and every story just a little more memorable. Steven was also deeply grateful for the love and support of his dear friend and longtime roommate Billy, who lived and cared for him in Florida for 14 years. Private funeral services will be held 11am on Thursday, February 5 at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway, Fair Lawn, NJ. Burial to follow at King Solomon Cemetery.

Memorial donations in memory of Steven may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.

The family encourages anyone attending Steve's service to start ariving to Louis Suburban Chapel at 10:15 AM.
