Alvin C. Sobin

Ringoes, NJ---Alvin Carl Sobin, 95, entered eternal life on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. Born in Irvington, NJ, son of the late Eva Koegel and George Sobin, he resided in Union, NJ prior to settling in Ringoes in 2014.
Alvin was a graduate of Newark Public School of Fine and Industrial Art. He apprenticed as a tool and die-maker and became owner of Sun Tool & Manufacturing in Irvington, NJ. His work was his lifelong joy and he always said you are lucky in life if you enjoy what you do.
As a young adult Alvin participated in and became a scout leader of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member and deacon of the First Congregational Christian Church in Irvington. He enjoyed many friendships and shared a large social circle with his wife Lois. Together they hosted yearly/annual Halloween and New Year's Eve parties for their many friends and family. In addition to traveling the world with Lois, he enjoyed bowling and followed baseball, his favorite team being the St. Louis Cardinals.
Alvin's beloved wife of seventy-one years, Lois whom he met in youth group, died in 2021.
Surviving are two loving children, John Sobin of Nazareth, PA and Laurel and her husband Keith Muldowney of Ringoes; dear sister, Vearian Kroeck; two cherished grandchildren, Kristen and husband Sam Roberts and Rebecca Muldowney and one great-grandchild Evan Roberts.
