Peter M Praisner

Peter M. Praisner, 85, a devoted father, talented musician, and retired telephone systems technician, passed away on December 22, 2024, in Belchertown, Massachusetts. Born on April 20, 1939, in Chicopee, MA, he was the son of the late Edmund and Wanda (Rurak) Praisner.
Peter was predeceased by his cherished wife, Maria (Lopes) Praisner, in 1987, and his beloved daughter, Eileen Praisner, in 2024. He is survived by his daughter Christine Praisner of Belchertown and his two sisters, Susan and Pat.
Educated in Chicopee, he was a proud graduate of Chicopee High School. Peter has been a resident of Belchertown for 60 years.
A proud AirForce veteran of the Vietnam War. Peter dedicated 27 years of his professional life to the Verizon phone company, retiring in 1989 as a telephone systems technician.
A man of many talents, Peter achieved significant personal satisfaction as a member of the Chordiales Band, where his skills as a drummer and pianist brought joy to many. He regularly shared his musical gifts at the Belchertown Senior Center and local nursing homes. His ability to light up a room with his jokes and warm spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Chicopee at a later date to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
