Peter J. Raptis

Canfield – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter J. Raptis, 43, of Canfield, who made his transition to his heavenly home on Saturday evening, September 7, 2024 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Peter was born January 2, 1981 in Youngstown, the son of Gus and Diane (Van Oudenhove) Raptis. He was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1999.
Peter excelled as an entrepreneur and local businessman. He began his career as a landman in the oil and gas industry and then ventured into owning Steam Tech Carpet Cleaning Company. He was the founder and owner of the NEO flag football and basketball leagues and Game on Sports Facility in Canfield. He also was the finance director for Newport Auto Group and then founded and was owner of Steel Valley Motorz.
To know Peter was to love him. He will always be remembered for his huge smile, big heart, and always being on the go; never sitting still. His family was always his top priority, especially his children and he never missed any of their events. Peter also was extremely proud of his Greek heritage.
Peter had many passions throughout his life. He loved going on vacations and making new memories, riding his Harley with his friends and attending Daytona Bike week. Peter also was an avid sports fan; always rooting on his favorite team the Pittsburgh Steelers. His greatest enjoyment was playing golf with his son Tony and going to gymnastic meets with his daughter Alyssa.
Peter leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories his children Anthony "Tony" and Alyssa Raptis, his mother Diane (Donald) Bucci, his fiancé Kelly McCormick, his stepchildren Kenzie, Lily and James McCormick, two brothers Donald F. Bucci II and Jonathan Bucci and his former wife Shannon Raptis along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Peter was preceded in death by his father Gus Raptis and his grandparents Petros (Anna) Raptis, Joseph (Anne) Van Oudenhove and Donald (Rosemaire) Bucci.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Road (RT 224), Poland with Father John Rovnak as celebrant.
Everyone is asked to meet directly at church on Friday morning to celebrate Peter's mass.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery, Poland.
