Peter Edward Rockman,42, of Wausau, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at his mother's home in Wittenberg.
Pete was born on October 23, 1982, in Shawano. The son of Peter Shawanokasic and Leola Rockman.
Pete loved to travel. In his early years, Pete spent summers in Ohio working at Cedar Point Amusement Park and in the winter months, he worked at a ski resort in Montana. Pete later settled in Wausau and worked in the restaurant business for many years, making many lasting friendships. He worked as a manager at Politos, worked in the kitchen at The Great Dane and most recently at Toppers Pizza. Pete loved spending time with his family, especially his nephews, Khai and Quey. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, playing video games and taking his mom to bingo.
Pete is survived by his mother, Leola Rockman of Wittenberg; his father, Peter Shawanokasic of Keshena; two brothers, Dana Rockman and Josh (Ashley) Andritsch; nephews, Khaius Grayson and Aquilus Gabriel; special friends, Erin Lindsay and Alan Raff; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pete was preceded in death by his grandparents, Viginia and Joe Shawanokasic and Larry and Carol Lynch; uncles, several cousins and other relatives.
Devotional services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 7PM following the meal at 5 PM at The Siga Funmaker Community Center. Mr. Kelly LaMere will lead. A Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Friday, May 16, 2025, with Devotional services and a meal to follow at The Siga Funmaker Community Center.
