Peter C. Seekins

Peter C. Seekins, 71, of Searsport, passed peacefully with his wife by his side on December 29, 2025. His health had deteriorated over the years.

Peter graduated from Searsport District High School in 1973 and EMVTI in 1975 in Small Engine repair. He ran his own Machine Shop for over 15 years. He worked at Maplewood Poultry, Searsport Docks, and GE in Bangor. He was definitely happy when he was able to work. In his earlier years he enjoyed being a scout leader.

He loved his grandchildren more than life itself. He loved spending any time with them. He particularly liked teaching them fishing, hunting, and working on any small engines.

He was predeceased by his parents, Preston L. Seekins, Sr., and Juanita E. (Moulton) Seekins, and by several aunts and uncles.

Peter is survived by his wife of 31 years Leana (Ryan) Seekins, two step sons, Jason Fairbrother and Adam Fairbrother, his grandchildren, Devin Fairbrother and wife Justina Fairbrother, Chad Fairbrother, Caleb Fairbrother and wife Olivia Fairbrother, Brianna Fairbrother, Gabriel Fairbrother, and Addysen Fairbrother; two great-grandchildren Samira Fairbrother and Harvey Fairbrother, and by his siblings Preston E. Seekins, Jr., Dennis Seekins, Diane Seekins Gilmore, and Angela Seekins Nevell.

A time of visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Monday, January 5, 2026, followed by a funeral at 11 am at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, Me.
