Peter, 48, of Park Ridge, formerly of Montclair, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Peter was a graduate of Montclair High School and New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire. Peter worked as a lead broker for Loyola Media Group.
Cherished son of father Hagop Sermabeikian and mother Patricia Sermabeikian. Treasured step-son of Douglas Martinez. Loving step-son of Maria (Sermabeikian) Martinez.
Beloved brother of Amber Sermabeikian, Ashley Somasundaram and her husband Anand, and Nicole Smith and her husband Shaun.
Loving nephew of Lucine (Sermabeikian) Poindexter and the late Harrison, the late Krikor and the late Anna Sermabeikian, Elie Sermabeikian and his wife Heidi, and Betty (Sermabeikian) Nugnes and her husband Frank.
He loved many things: sports, history, movies, and being with his many friends and relatives. One of his most notable characteristics was his intense caring for people, not only his friends, but especially if someone was ill or aging, where he met their physical and emotional needs as a companion. He was very loving and very loved.
Family will receive friends on Friday April 12, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday April 13, 2024, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus, NJ. Interment immediately following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Peter's memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

I first met Peter as a new neighbor a couple of years ago in Mashpee MA on Cape Cod. Peter was always pleasant and engaging to talk with. He will be missed by the Cape Codders who were lucky enough to know him.
