Peter Joseph Shook, 69, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 27, 2025. Born in Pittsfield on March 4, 1956, he was the son of the late Raymond and Janet (Clavelle) Shook. Peter graduated from the former St. Joseph's Central High School with the Class of 1975. A dedicated and hardworking man, Peter was a self-employed contractor for many years. He also worked alongside his father and brother at General Floor Sanding. Peter was a passionate sports fan, proudly supporting the Boston Celtics, New York Yankees, and New York Jets. He especially enjoyed spending time working in his yard. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Mele) Shook; his daughter, Kaitlyn Shook and her partner Sean Timmons of West Stockbridge, MA; his son, Kevin M. Shook of Pittsfield, MA; and his stepdaughter, Sara Collard of San Diego, CA. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Weston and Wells Timmons; his brother, Paul Shook and his wife Sharon of West Stockbridge, MA; his sister, Susan Shook and her partner David Schneider of Lee, MA; his niece, Whitney, and his nephew, Brett. Peter will also be remembered for his deep affection for his beloved dogs, Leo and Molly. Funeral Notice: A funeral service for Peter Shook will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm Street, Pittsfield, MA. Burial will be private. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
