Peter Steichen Obituary
Peter was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is the son of Peter R. Steichen and Lori (Martin) Steichen. Peter moved to Spooner in 2001, where he continued to work as a transmission mechanic, until he went on the road to install GPS systems in fleet trucks. Peter was passionate about cooking and smoking (barbecue). He was employed by several restaurants for his cooking skills and creativity in the kitchen.
Peter is survived by his children, Haily Steichen and Peter W. Steichen; his parents, Peter and Lori Steichen; his sister, Michelle (Tony) Steichen; fiance, Julie Cook and her son, Cory Cook; his very special Aunt Jennie Rappley; grandchildren, Sonja Wade and Jackson Wade. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jaymi Hiler, Jennah Hiler, Joanna Hiler, Jeremiah Hiler, Evelyn Pederson and AJ Pederson; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Peter was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peter and Jean Steichen, and MaryAnn Martin; and his uncle, Raymond Steichen.
A Celebration of Life for Peter will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 1 - 4 PM at Lipsie Pines Tavern in Spooner.
