Peter J. Turgeon, 85, of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away on December 11, 2023. He was born on February 5, 1939 in Springfield, MA to Sylvio and Wanda Bayek Turgeon of East Hartford, CT. He graduated from East Hartford High School. He joined the US Coast Guard. He followed with a long career in civil engineering, attending Georgia Technical Institute. He served as Chief Traffic Engineer for Pinellas County Government for 42 years. Before moving to Ormond Beach, FL, he and his family lived in Largo, FL for 40 years. He always took a great interest in Boating and had many boats throughout the years. He owned a fishing charter boat business for several years at Clearwater Beach Marina. He is survived by his wife, Donna D. Turgeon, of 60 years, three children, Dawn M. Wilson of CT, Peter J. Turgeon, Jr. and Aimee T. Buddingh, both of Ormond Beach, FL, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, two sisters, Judith T. Deskus of Wells, ME and Nancy T. Bennett of Uncasville, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38109. A memorial mass will be held at Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 1780 Ocean Shore, Blvd. Ormond Beach, FL 32176 on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023 at 2:00pm with Father James Queen officiating.
