David Paul Riley, 71, of Holly Hill, FL, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at Halifax Health – Hospice Ormond Beach, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on November 30, 1953, in Sevierville, Tennessee, David carried with him a deep love for his roots in the Smoky Mountains throughout his life. He was a man of strong faith, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who found joy in the simple pleasures of life - the roar of a drag race, the sound of waves crashing on the shore, and the laughter of family gathered together.

David is survived by the love of his life, Susan, and their five children: Brandy Teel (Bryan) of Somerville, TX; Crystal Willoughby (Henry) of Cameron, TX; Nathan Riley (Marcy) of Atmore, AL; DeAnna Butler (Brian) of Cedar Bluff, AL; and Gary Mitchell of Holly Hill, FL. Known affectionately as "Papa," David was cherished by his fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who brought immense pride and joy to his life. He is also survived by his nephew, Shawn Bryant (Jen) of Polk City, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Betty Riley; his baby sister, Diane Bryant; his beloved grandson, David Carroll; and his Aunt Kat & Uncle LR Ogle.

David's legacy is one of kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family and faith in Jesus. His stories, his laughter, and his quiet wisdom will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Halifax Health – Hospice Ormond Beach in David's memory.
