Peter Urban

Peter Urban, of Covington, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of 63. Mr. Urban leaves behind a life full of music, adventure, and joy. A true lover of rock 'n' roll, he found happiness attending live concerts and events, always embracing the energy of the crowd. He cherished the open road, often seen riding his motorcycle or exploring new places through travel. An avid guitarist, Mr. Urban found solace in music and the great outdoors. He was most proud of his son and daughter, who brought him immense joy and purpose. He loved good food, camping, and was most happy with the simple things in life. Growing up in Southern California, Mr. Urban made his mark as a professional skateboarder, famously jumping over cars. He love love loved the beach and held a special place in his heart for Lytle Creek, California. His vibrant spirit, love of adventure, and deep appreciation for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter John Urban and Mary Ann Urban; brother, Bob Urban; sister, Cindy Urban; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Urban; and son-in-law, Justin Ritchie.

Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Urban-Ritchie (Brian Kimble); son, Shawn Urban; fiance, Jennifer Grubbs; sisters, Joyce Markos (Greg), Tina Ulrich (Greg), Carole Urban; grandchildren, Chanacy and Jacob Ritchie, Elizabeth and Emily Urban; step-grandchildren that he loved and raised, Joshua Mayne and Donovan Davis along with 6 other step-grandchildren; step-children, Tina, Tabatha, Skyler, Tonya; nieces and nephews, Bobby, Nikki, Kristin, Amber, Paul, Bret, Stacy, Jessica; lifelong friends, Tony, Kevin, Dixon; as well as several other nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. Mr. Urban would also like to acknowledge his coworkers who played a meaningful role in his life and shared many memorable moments with him over the years.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Urban will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior before his service, from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M.
