Petra Cantu Obituary
Petra V. Cantu, 94, began her glorious journey on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. and Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2025 at Saint Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford.
Inurnment: East Greenwood Cemetery, 500 E. Front Street, Weatherford.
Petra was born June 29, 1931 to Tirzo and Maria Valtierra in Millsap, Texas. She was a housewife, and mother to five children. Petra was a long-time resident of Weatherford and member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, and quilting with the ladies' Quilting Club at St. Stephen. Petra also enjoyed pets and was especially fond of her beautiful chihuahua, Nina. Anyone that knew Petra, knew the lovely Nina, who was her friend for 17 years.
Petra was preceded in death by husband, Jesus; sons, Jesse, and Arturo; and grandson, Stephen.
She is survived by her son, Steve Cantu; daughters, Patricia Aspan, and Teresa Vasquez and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Jacquie Mask, Chris Cantu, Gabriel and Catherine Vasquez; great-grandchildren, Joseph Aldana, Robert and Stran Mask, and Mia Argumaniz; sisters, Esperanza Hernandez, and Julia Willingham; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
