Nilda Beatriz Arevalo Camacho, Madre, was born on February 17, 1932 in Villarrica del Espiritu Santo, Paraguay. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at her home in Aledo, Texas. In 2014, after introducing herself with her full name to her future son in law, he thought for few awkward seconds and then said hola, Madre, mucho gusto. Ever since, family and friends have called her Madre. She loved it. Madre always had a beautiful smile and she laughed often. Madre truly enjoyed cooking, dancing, traveling, tennis, and soccer. Her favorite soccer team was Club Olympia from Asuncion, Paraguay. When she watched Club Olympia or the Paraguayan national team play on television, Madre paced our living room. Her devout Catholic faith brought her through life’s tough times over her 93 years.
She is preceded by her husband, Gilberto Camacho, of 54 years and three children, Nilda Costance, Esperansa Ruth, and Jorge.
Madre is survived by her daughter, Aurora, and son in-law, Mike, brothers Rigoberto and Oscar, and many nieces and nephews and their families in Paraguay.
