Petra Garcia, 79, passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2025. She was born on September 17, 1946, in Atotonilco,Morelos Mexico, to loving parents Manuel Alanis Reboyo and Ignasia Castillo Java. She married the love of her life, Ramiro Garcia, and together they built a life filled with dedication, hard work, and devotion to family. They were married in Puebla Mexico.
Petra was raised in Puebla, Mexico, where she developed the strong values and work ethic that stayed with her throughout her life. She later moved to Anaheim, California, where she lived for many years before settling in Hurricane, Utah, to enjoy her golden years surrounded by peace, sunshine, and family.
She worked in the hotel industry as a housekeeper, a role in which she took great pride. Petra believed in caring for others, whether through her work or through the warmth of her home and kitchen. She found joy in cooking, swimming, traveling, dancing, cleaning, prayer, God, and watching her favorite telenovelas. Above all, her greatest passion was her family whom she loved deeply and gave generously.
Petra is survived by her children: Maria and her spouse Omar, Ana and her spouse Manuel of Hurricane, Teodoro of Utah; and by her cherished grandchildren: Johnny, Alexis, Manuel, Jeanette, Nancy, Corrine, Laura, Rita, Jose Jr., Joshua, Ramiro, Esther, and Ashley. She is also survived by her sisters Reina and Antonia and her brothers Andres, Pedro, Pablo, and Alfredo.
Petra will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, who will forever cherish her memory.
A Mass will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00am at the St. George Catholic Church, 259 W. 200 N. St. George, UT 84770. Prior to services there will be a viewing at 10:00am. Interment will be at the Hurricane City Cemetery, 255 E. 600 N. St. Hurricane, UT 84737 following services.
