Petrita Maria Calderon (nee) Lovato passed away on June 29th, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was born July 19, 1949 in San Luis NM, She had been a resident of Bernalillo since 1949 and it was her home she had been very proud of. She graduated from Bernalillo high school in 1967 and was a very faithful Catholic, attending our Lady of Sorrows Church every Sunday.

She was retired and prior to that, she was a Caregiver in various facilities, taking care of the disabled. She was a hard working woman and had worked for Advanced Manufacturing for more than 15 years in Bernalillo.

Petrita loved to cook, going to the movies, watching the Hallmark channel and doing crossword puzzles. She very much loved her husband, two daughters and adored her only granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, Adan Calderon of 29 years, her two daughters, Bernadette Chapman (Michael Chapman) and Kayla Garcia (Fidel Santiago Perez) and her only grandchild, Kaylee Chapman, her Sister Rose Duran (Lovato) and brother Victor Lovato And her many Nephew’s and Nieces.

Petrita joins in Heaven, her Father Eduvigen Lovato, Mother Lucarita Lovato (Maestas), Sister’s Pina Lucero (Lovato), Lucy Martinez (Lovato), Adela Marquez (Lovato), Odelia Jaramillo (Lovato), Alvita Navarro (Lovato), Brothers Armelino Lovato, Gilbert Lovato, Leonard Lovato,

We have so much gratitude and appreciation for the all the staff that took such good care of our mother, at The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho. We thank them tremendously from the bottom of our hearts for treating her with so much kindness and love and being apart of our family.
