Philip Lamar Bailey, 78, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Georgia. He was born on January 30, 1945. He is the son of the late Preston Bailey and the late Ethel Jennings Bailey.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Whitmire of Fairburn, Georgia; brothers, Joel Bailey of Summerdale, Alabama, Tommy Bailey of Griffin, Georgia; son, Phillip Anthony Bailey of Gadsden, Alabama; and stepson, David Orr of Walhalla, South Carolina.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynne Bailey; daughter, Belinda Tedesco; grandchildren, Christopher Tedesco and his wife, Maria of Atlanta, Georgia, Matthew Bailey of Gadsden, Alabama, Ava Cantrell of Fort Payne, Alabama, Krystal Bailey of Gadsden, Alabama, Nickalous Bailey of Gadsden, Alabama, Joshua Bailey of Gadsden, Alabama; great grandchildren, Wyatt Cantrell, Ariel Cantrell, Zoey Tedesco; brother, Frank Bailey and his wife, Gail of Livingston, Texas; sisters, Jane Woodall of Lula, Georgia, Frances Jones of Selma, Alabama.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wellstar West Georgia Oncology, Dr. Navin Wadehra and staff for the excellent care given to Philip. They would also like to thank Dr. James Lantz and Wellstar Douglas Hospital 2nd floor staff for the excellent care provided, as well as, Tranquility Hospice and staff in Austell, Georgia.
