Philip G. Christman, 87, of Little Marais, died Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Essentia Health in Duluth.
He was born May 16, 1937 to Philip and Marie Christman in St. Paul, where he grew up and attended schools. After graduating from St. Thomas Academy, Phil went on to graduate from the University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He worked for his entire career at 3M until retiring.
An accomplished musician, Phil played piano in various bands in his earlier years, especially enjoying jazz music. A model train enthusiast, he was involved in several collector groups. He also enjoyed reading and was appreciated as a “Grill Master”.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patty; and a son, Randy.
He is survived by his wife, Serine Ege and her family, Robert (Trudy) Ege, Julie (Ronald) Furstenau, and Valerie (Gary) Kalstabakken; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joanna, Theodore and Sydney; 2 great-grandchildren; and his son, Timothy (Angela) Christman.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the United Protestant Church in Silver Bay. To share a memory or leave an online condolence visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
