Philip W. Farlinger

Philip W. Farlinger (Phil) of Kingston, MA passed away peacefully on Feb.19 surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old. Phil was a beloved husband for 63 years to wife, Janet, and loving dad to their 3 daughters: Susan and husband, Bill Goyette of Duxbury, MA; Elaine and husband, Bob Postler of Pembroke, MA; and Karen and husband, Alex Averette of Ware, MA. He was a proud grandfather to Christie, Lexi, Amy, Allie, Brian, and Vanessa, and two great-granddaughters. He also leaves a brother, Ed Farlinger of Hollis, ME and sisters Ramona Liebmann of New Baltimore, NY and the late Linda Storer. Phil studied at Northeastern University and Worcester State University where he received a BS Degree in Chemistry, and master studies at Clark University. He was employed at Polaroid Corp. for many years and was a veteran of the Armed Forces. Services are private. One of Phil's favorite spots was Prince Edward Island, Canada where he owned a home for more than a decade. His granddaughters have fond memories of traveling to PEI every summer while growing up. He was also an avid sports fan and loved anything food-related. His eclectic music tastes ranged from Celine Dion and Abba to PEI's traditional fiddle music. He was especially proud of his daughters and grandchildren and would brag about them any chance he got.
