Philip Eugene Franklin, age 87, of Madisonville, KY and formerly of Ilsley, KY, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at his home. Mr. Franklin was born on October 15, 1938 to the late Glenn Franklin and Agnes Franklin McGregor. He worked for 25 years as a salesman for Thompson Janitorial Supply and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years ~ Georgia Miller Franklin; two children ~ Dahlene (Larkin) Dupree and Cary (Julie) Franklin; sisters ~ Nancy Vaughn and Jill Fuller; grandchildren ~ Trey Franklin, Abigail (Caden) Lunsford, Chad Franklin, Brant (Rachel) Dupree and Kara Franklin; bonus grandchildren ~ Mattie (Taylor) McMurty, Joel Jones and Annabelle Jones; great-grandchildren ~ Philip Franklin and Ellie McMurty; nieces ~ Jennifer (Derrick) Brewer and Michelle (Tad) Ladd; and cousin ~ Rita Hinton.
He was preceded in death by his father ~ Glenn Franklin; his mother ~ Agnes Franklin McGregor; step-father ~ Raymond McGregor; brothers ~ Donald Franklin and Roger Franklin; bonus grandson ~ Jon Russell; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation for Philip Eugene Franklin will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 11:30 AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Chris Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Ilsley Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
Active Pallbearers will be: Trey Franklin, Chad Franklin, Brant Dupree, Gage Brewer, Grayson Brewer, and Tad Ladd. Honorary Pallbearer will be Philip Franklin.
