ASHBY – Philip Chester Hopkins, 76 of Ashby, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Born in Fitchburg and raised in Ashby, Philip was one of four siblings; born to the late Chester E. and Marilyn (Piper) Hopkins. He had a long career as an electronics technician and was involved in several patents. He was a proud veteran, and served overseas in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1964 until 1968.
Philip was a family man who was very loving to his wife, family and his dog Lily.
In addition to his parents, Philip was predeceased by his siblings, Donna Howland, Calvin Hopkins, and Lani Walker.
Philip is lovingly survived by his wife, Paula M. (Kavanagh) Hopkins; his daughter, Krystal Green of Groton; his step-son, Stephen Kavanagh, and his wife Jennifer of Barrington, RI; grandchildren, Skylar Hopkins-Green, Jack Kavanagh, Liam Kavanagh, Tommy Kavanagh; cousins, Nancy Catalini of Ashby, Bob Hargraves of Townsend, Jim Hargraves of Ashby, and Judy Kierce of Ashby.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 2-5 pm in TJ Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, Townsend. A Memorial Service will take place at 4pm during the Visiting Hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Philip's memory to the Vietnam Veterans of America, www.vva.org.
