Philip Malfettone, was born on February 2nd, 1944, died on December 27th, 2024. Philip was born in Ridgewood, Queens to Frank and Josephine, and sister Joanne. Philip then met the love of his life Joanna, who is he is survived by. They were married for 49 years and moved to Baldwin, NY where they resided for 46 years, and raised their son Brian. Philip considered Joanna the rock of the family during the toughest of times, when she always took the helm. Joanna took great care of him during his later years. They enjoyed many beautiful days together at Lido Beach and made many special family memories in New Hampshire, The Jersey Shore, Puerto Rico, Selden, Vermont, Central Valley, Texas and more recently in Florida and Great Sacandaga Lake. Philip graduated from St. Francis Prep High School in 1962, and was standout student, baseball player, and editor in chief of the yearbook. Philip had amazing natural artistic ability that he never pursued but could have been successful with. College was not a financial possibility so Philip began a career on Wall Street and took night business classes. Philip started as a runner on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and through hard work was able to become a Managing Director and Institutional Equity trader at Drexel Burnham, Keefe Bruyette & Woods, and Advest and Co., amongst others over a thirty-five year career. During his middle and and later years, he was a dedicated volunteer of the Baldwin P.A.L. He took great pride in running the senior high school basketball league, which was a five night per week commitment. Thousands of young men passed through the program during his time and he was proud to have made a di erence in their lives. Philip had the great honor as serving as the county trustee, to the Nassau County P.A.L. Philip was a passionate Yankee Fan and watched nearly every game of the long baseball season in its entirety. He never found a a Yankee manager who knew as much as he did and was never content with the team no matter how good a season they were having. His great love of the game is passed down to Frank (son), Brian (son), and Bryson (grandson), who were his biggest sources of strength. He never missed a game of Brian's, and his greatest regret was not being able to do the same for Frank. Remaining to cherish names are: Joann and Hannah (daughter in laws), four grandchildren: Caroline, Meredith, Reese and Bryson; Rich Z. (brother in law, surviving Joanna), Nina (sister in law),Rich M. (brother in law), Frances (sister in law), Lenny (brother in law), and Sal (brother in law), nieces and nephews: Christopher, Richie, Diana, John, Joseph, Lenny and David.

Philly,
I´m certainly going to miss hearing you yell at the TV especially when your favorite Yankees were playing. Your passion for baseball I must admit rubbed off on me . I actually watched quite a bit of the last World Series something I normally wouldn´t do . Thanks to you. It was also enjoyable discussing your favorite game of baseball with you.
All of our time spent together at holiday gatherings and eating at home and restaurants , trips to shows ,the beach, North Carolina, will also be sorely missed.
It was an honor to know you.
Until we meet again ...Your brother in law Rich M.
