Ridgeley, WV – Philip Todd Mauzy, 50, of Ridgeley, WV, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Dawn View Nursing Home.
Born August 7, 1974, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Mauzy was the son of John Mauzy and the late Carolyn (Richmond) Mauzy.
Philip was an athlete with the Mineral County Special Olympics and a graduate of Clary Street Learning Center. He formerly attended Holy Cross Episcopal Church, and more recently Christ Lutheran Church.
Surviving besides his father are two brothers: Michael Brian Mauzy and wife, Shari; and Christopher John Mauzy and wife, Kelly; and his nieces and nephews: Nathan, Matthew, and Samantha Mauzy; Gavin Mauzy and wife, Sarah; Andrew Mauzy; and Kinsley Mauzy.
Philip was a bright shining light in our family. His laugh was infectious, and his orneriness kept us on our toes.
Philip loved to dance to his music, play with balloons, shoot hoops and enjoyed eating pizza and cookies.
We will forever be grateful for the lessons he taught us about perseverance, compassion, and unconditional love.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com)on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Daniel Swanson officiating.
Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Flintstone, MD.
The family would like to thank everyone at UPMC-Western Maryland and Dawn View Nursing Home for all of the great care given to Philip.
