Philip 'Phil' J McLaughlin of West Grove, passed away peacefully on Monday Dec 16, 2024.
He was born on June 8,1937 in Philadelphia to the late Philip and Marion (Gallen) McLaughlin.
Phil was a devoted husband to his 1st late wife Elaine (Tully) McLaughlin and his 2nd late wife Mary Lee (Lewis) McLaughlin. He is also preceded In death by his beloved daughter Linda (McLaughlin) Thompson and two brothers Joseph and William McLaughlin.
Phil retired at the young age of 57 after almost 30 years at Scott Paper in Chester. Shortly after retirement he and Mary Lee packed up and moved to Florida to enjoy the sunshine. They enjoyed many of the same hobbies such as golfing, camping, and bocce. Phil also enjoyed listening to his country music, watching his Phillies, Eagles, and just relaxing with his buddies in the garage having a cold beer. Those that truly knew him recognized him for his love and passion for woodworking. The talent and patience he had to create such craftsmanship was beyond remarkable. His legacy and beautiful work will forever be cherished through our family's generations.
Devoted father of Philip McLaughlin (Jeanne Vivino), Robert McLaughlin (Kathryn), Cynthia Notorfrancesco, Richard McLaughlin (Kathleen) and Deborah McLaughlin Smith (Craig). Loving grandfather 'GGpop' to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
We (his children) find comfort in knowing that dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his memorial visitation from 10:00-11:30 AM Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, where a service will be 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
