Philip Metz Obituary

Philip was born to George A. and Katherine (Rosich) Metz in Detroit, Michigan and was married
to his wife Sharron Ann (Olmsted) for 60 years. Philip was preceded in death by his parents,
his brother George Paul (the late Elaine) Metz, and sister Patricia McAuley. Philip is survived by
his wife, children Philip (Sharon) Metz and Brian (Jill) Metz, grandsons Andrew, Jack, and
Michael "Moe", brother Thomas (Mary) Metz, sisters Sharon Daniels and Mary Beth (the late
William) Waters, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Philip was proud of his service in the US Army, serving both stateside and overseas in
Germany. He retired from Ford Motor Company after over 30 years.
Per Philip's wishes, there will be no service and a private interment will occur at a later date at
Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Westlake Health Campus and Open Arms
Hospice who took care of Philip for many months.
