Philip Roccaro, 96, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. Born on February 24, 1929, in Manhattan, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Luigi and Vincenza Roccaro. A proud veteran, Philip honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was awarded both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his bravery and service. Phil was the founding owner/operator of Maximum Quality Foods in Linden, New Jersey. He is survived by the love of his life, his best friend and former wife, Lynn Roccaro. He is survived by his three sons: Dean Roccaro of Fort Myers, FL; Gary Roccaro and his wife Carmelia of Little Silver, NJ; and Wayne Roccaro of Staten Island, NY and a step daughter, Nancy Olson. He was a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren and a dear uncle to two nieces and a nephew. He also leaves behind his many friends from the Cascades community in Estero and from the Amavida community in Fort Myers. Philip was predeceased by his brother, Salvatore, and his sister, Agatha. A man of faith, Philip was a devoted member of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing bocce while living at the Cascades and was a proud member of the ELK's during his years in New Jersey. Philip will be remembered for his resilience, sense of humor, devotion to family, and unwavering strength. His life was a testament to service, community, and love. A mass for Phil will be held in October at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community. To sign his guest register or to leave online condolences, please visit www.ShikanyFuneralHome.com.
