Phillip Wayne Arms, 83 of Cumberland Heights, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Celebration of Life will be held 12 noon Thursday, June 30, 2022 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Jeter officiating. The service will be live streamed and viewable at www.NaveFuneralHomes.com within the Webcasting section of Phillip's obituary. Burial, with Military Honors will follow at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Masonic Service to follow. The family will also receive friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Phillip was born April 28, 1939 in Montgomery County to the late John Henry Arms and Bertha Crawford Arms. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ralph (Janie) Arms and sister, Martha Sue (Gentry) Arms Lannom.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sara Haynes Arms; three sons, Phil (Theresa) Arms, Tommy (Tammy) Arms, Stanley (Joyce) Arms; eight grandchildren, Monica Camacho, Nicky Perry, Andrew Arms, Ryan (Jessica) Arms, Cory (Mandy) Arms, Shaun Arms, Jonathan Arms, and Erick Arms, and fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Priscilla) Arms and Charles (Gail) Arms.
Mr. Arms was a devoted family man. He loved to spend time with his wife, Sara, and their family. He loved sitting in his rocking chair feeding and watching wildlife from the front porch.
Mr. Arms was a US Army Veteran, having served in France. He later retired from the Fort Campbell Army Airfield Base, as an aircraft attendant.
Mr. Arms was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Palmyra Masonic Lodge, 747.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church Family Life Center.
Family will serve as Pallbearers.
