Phillip Lee Broome

Phillip Broome was born on March 23rd, 1968. He was brought into this world with his twin sister to parents Annie and Eugene Broome at Cook County hospital. Phil grew up in Maywood, IL. He attended Garfield Elementary School and was a proud member of the Proviso East High School basketball team. He went on to attend College of DuPage before leaving to serve his country in the Army, where he was stationed in Germany and Fort Polk in Louisiana.
Phillip gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He was baptized by his uncle, Reverend Dr. Bennie Gaston, at Zion Baptist Church.
Phillip married Lynnette Scott on May 31st, 1997. They have shared 25 years of marriage and 30 years together.
Phillips's life ended on November 14th, 2022, at Edward Hospital. On that day, Phillip's long battle with severe health concerns ended peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.
Phillip was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Rayfield and Dasie Gaston, mother Annie Broome, daughter Charles Broome, uncles Jack Gaston, Robert Gaston, Samuel Gaston, and aunts Eular Portman, Jennie Simmons and Evelyn Robinson.
To cherish Phillips's memory, he left behind his wife Lynnette Broome, daughters Malika Wichner (Karl), Brandy Broome and Kayla Broome. Father Eugene Broome, siblings Micheal Broome (Lacie), Pam Howard (Reggie), Penny Weaver (Mark) and Joseph Broome (Cathy). In-laws Charley and Lillie. Sister-in-law Chiquita Simmini (Mark). Nieces and nephews Micheal Jr., Tasha, Armani, Joshua (Amber), Jeremiah, Hakeem, Olajuwon, Laila, Quenton, Annie, Roman (AirReca), Ryan, Breannie (Cedric) Hines, Joseph Jr., "JoJo", Hailey, Matthew (Jennifer), Brandon (Afton) and Brian.
As well as a host of cousins, extended family and loving friends he made over the years. Phill never met a stranger. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 12-1 p.m. with a service at 1 p.m. at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, IL
